Welcome to the First Russian Style Orienteering Camp web site!

The goal of the event was to provide intensive technical training course for juniors and young orienteerers. The course was designed to show the juniors methods and directions to improve their orienteering skills.

Now the camp became a thing of the past. From my point of view it was successful. We got seven participants this year and I think all of them learnt something new about orienteering.

During the camp I found that none of the participants had any systematical trainings in orienteering before. Their orienteering knowledge is basically a mess of unrelated skills and facts. So I started to put their knowledge in some kind of order.

As far as one week is a very short period of time for the orienteering training process and seven people is not a lot for a training camp I decided to put a description of our camp on this web site. I believe that this site can be useful for many orienteerers and coaches. The participants can use the site to recall trainings and things they learnt. The coaches can obtain some new approaches and methods. The juniors who did not attend the camp can get an idea about the organization of the camp and probably decide if they want to participate next year.
