Trainings
Orienteering is a reach many-sided sport. Of course, it is impossible to cover all aspects of orienteering in one-week camp. We focused on developing in juniors who participated in the camp the ability of using lengthy features on an orienteering course. Lengthy features play important role in orienteering as they form skeleton of almost all orienteering routs. A good orienteerer should know how to extract lengthy features form map information and how to use them for successful completion his aims on the course.
So, most exercises were dedicated to lengthy objects orienteering. There were also some exercises, which supposed to improve map reading (while running), working with compass skills and working with control descriptions.
I have to say that I did not notice the time on exercises so right and accurate execution of all exercises was the most important. I also did not have punches on controls except for using control descriptions exercise.
On following pages I'll describe all exercises day after day (all maps were used can be found here):
| 07/28/03 Monday Day 1 | 07/31/03 Thursday Day 4 |
| 07/29/03 Tuesday Day 2 | 08/01/03 Friday Day 5 |
| 07/30/03 Wednesday Day 3 | 08/02/03 Saturday Day 6 |
